This workshop is presented by Summer Innanen and Danni “Amapoundcake” Adams, founders of the Institute for Body Image, and is an in-depth analysis on how providers can support clients with body image through an intersectional lens. Using an anti-oppressive approach, they speak to the importance of understanding intersectionality when working with clients around body image and how our body image is the result of social factors. You’ll learn how bias and white supremacy culture influence body image, as well as how we show up as providers and the impacts this can have on the provider-client relationship. Attendees will walk away with tangible steps to effectively support clients with their body image struggles without causing harm.
