Eating disorders are conditions that must be contextualized within the societal structures of oppression that define their development, occurrence, and treatment. Justice-oriented treatment for eating disorders must include explorations and pursuits of liberation and collective healing, which are currently largely neglected in treatment approaches. This webinar will assist attendees in:
- Understanding the relevance of abolition as a praxis for mental health and eating disorder healing
- Identifying the ways in which current treatment is carceral and failing many
- Envisioning what it looks like to embody the values of freedom, agency, and liberation in eating disorder and weight inclusive care
