Webinar: Nutrition Counselling Through a Weight-Inclusive Lens with Lisa Rutledge, RD
Learning about the weight-inclusive approach to nutrition counselling is exciting and empowering. This excitement is usually accompanied by feelings of confusion and worry on how to integrate it into your nutrition practice. In this webinar, we will address how to move from knowing to doing.
Translating your knowledge around weight inclusive care into concrete ways in which to run sessions with clients is key to practicing in way that align with your values.
We will go over some common pitfalls with traditional approaches of advice giving, what to ask in sessions, how to address client concerns about health and medical conditions, and how to reduce harming our clients while increasing client connection.
You will learn:-
- The key differences between client-centered, weight-inclusive care versus an advice-giving, nutrition expert role
- How to apply the principles of intuitive eating and the HAES® approaches in client assessments and sessions
- How to identify approaches that may threaten compassionate care and connecting with clients.
All registrants will receive access to the webinar recording, transcript, and resources.
