Navigating Type 1 Diabetes and Eating Disorders

Webinar: Navigating Type 1 Diabetes and Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are prevalent in the type-1 diabetes population. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of resources or supports currently available for this combined population. Katie Bartel, RD and T1D, will discuss the challenges of diabetes therapy with regards to eating disorders, and provide suggestions on supporting this population towards recovery.

We will discuss:

  • The statistics and etiology of eating disorders in the T1D population
  • Diabulimia: a T1D-specific eating disorder
  • Red flags for identifying ED in people with T1D
  • T1D-specific screeners
  • Strategies towards recovery

All registrants will receive access to the webinar recording, transcript, and resources.
