Webinar – Reproductive Health Dietetics: A Highlight on Menopause

While menopause is an expected and normal stage of life, confusion and misconceptions leave both dietitians and their clients at a loss for objective and supportive nutrition recommendations. This presentation will break down the menopause transition, common areas of concern in menopause for health care providers, and concrete skills to bring into dietetic practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the physiological and psychosocial changes that occur during the transition from pre-menopause through perimenopause to menopause
  • Identify common health-related concerns in menopause
  • Apply practical nutrition and counselling strategies for working with patients/clients undergoing menopause transition

    Emily Arthur (she/her)

    Emily Arthur (she/her) is a Registered Dietitian with a focus in reproductive medicine and gynecology. She practices from a weight-inclusive, sex-positive, gender-affirming, and eating disorder-informed framework to address hormone and menstrual health concerns such as
    fertility, menopause, endometriosis, and PCOS.
    Emily graduated from Western University (Brescia College) with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics, and completed her dietetic internship at London Health Sciences Centre. She has completed additional education in sexual and reproductive health via University of Alberta and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and works in both private practice and endometriosis research.
