Culturally Inclusive Nutrition Care for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) presented by Yi Min Teo, MS, RD, CNSC

Webinar: Culturally Inclusive Nutrition Care for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) often requires specialized nutrition interventions, yet some approaches can unintentionally exclude or overlook the cultural significance of traditional foods and eating practices. This session will explore how to provide culturally inclusive nutrition therapy for individuals with IBD, empowering patients/clients to manage symptoms and prevent malnutrition while incorporating their cultural food traditions. Attendees will learn practical strategies to modify IBD diets in a way that supports patients’ cultural identity and food heritage.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the prevalence, signs and symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of IBD
  • Identify common nutrition challenges in IBD and relevant interventions
  • Define culturally inclusive nutrition care within the context of IBD
  • Apply practical strategies for culturally inclusive care in practice

Culturally Inclusive Nutrition Care for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is approved by the Commission for Dietetic Registration (CDR) for 1 CPEU as a live event.

All registrants will receive access to the recording and any additional resources.
